Mountain and Downhill Biking

Project type

Sketches, Renderings, AI

Date

2021 to 2025

Mountain bike and downhill helmet design presents a distinct set of engineering and aesthetic challenges compared to team sports protection. Coverage requirements shift dramatically between XC trail riding and full-face downhill racing. Ventilation architecture has to balance airflow performance against structural integrity at impact zones. Visor geometry affects both aerodynamics and goggle integration. And the visual language of the category — aggressive surface breaks, bold venting patterns, extended rear coverage is earned through function, not applied for effect.

This page documents concept exploration across trail, enduro, and downhill categories. The work draws directly on the helmet engineering fundamentals developed across my decade of commercial work in lacrosse and baseball protection - inside-out thinking, impact zone geometry, fit system architecture - applied to the specific demands and design language of the MTB market.

I'm actively seeking engagement in this category. If you're a brand working on helmet development and want a designer who brings both deep protection engineering knowledge and strong concept execution, I'd welcome a conversation.

Do not hesitate to contact me to discuss a possible project or learn more about my work.
