Wilson Staff Golf Clubs
Project type
Sketching, Prototypes, Player and Lab Testing, 3D CAD
Date
2011 to 2015
During my time at Wilson, I led engineering and design across the Staff line of equipment — Wilson's tour-level performance tier — developing clubs for elite players and game-improvement models for a broader market. Work spanned irons, woods, wedges, and putters, with CAD surfacing, parametric modelling, and rapid prototype iteration running in parallel throughout.
A personal highlight was redesigning the Wilson 8802 putter, one of golf's most iconic and historically significant putters. The challenge was modernizing performance and manufacturing while preserving the design heritage that has made it a collector's piece and a tour staple for six decades. Multiple products developed during this period earned Golf Digest Hot List recognition, reinforcing Wilson Staff's position as a serious performance brand.
The work shown here spans the full range of the Staff line; from clean tour blades and concept iron explorations through driver development and putter design. The images include a mix of finished product photography, CAD development, prototypes, sketch work, and concept renders.
